The HAF is pleased to support these outstanding students with an HAF scholarship. Our goal is to be a continuous resource for them as they matriculate at their respective university. Congratulations and we wish you continued success!
Torianna Jones is a 2022 graduated high school senior concentrating in vocal performance in the Music Conservatory at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas. She is a 2021-2022 National YoungArts Merit Winner in pop vocal performance, a member of the National Honor Society, and an avid studier of Japanese language. She will be attending the University of Southern California to major in Popular Music and minor in East Asian studies of language and culture, as She plans for an international career in the music industry. She finished High School with
a 3.74 GPA and was a member of the National Honors Society.
Outside of School, She was Foundation Chair for the Northeast Dallas
Chapter of Jack and Jill of America during the 2021-2022 programming
year. She also frequently volunteers at the Good Samaritans of Garland,
Hopes Restored Missions, and Minnie's Food Pantries.
Madalyn Ross, is a senior at Mansfield High. Her mentor and high school choir director was Reginal Wright, and she learned from both Robyn Hollimon and Dr. Jane Andrews. She was a member of the TMEA All-State choir for two years, and she was a soloist at the 2022 MHS SWACDA performance. She has sung in many different choirs for almost 12 years, and hopes to continue in the future.
In the fall, she plans to attend Mississippi State University to study
Music Education.
Josie Frein is an incoming freshman at the Florida State University College of Music, pursuing a degree in Music Therapy. She attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts as a Music Theatre major and has performed as Bebe in ‘A Chorus Line’ and as Natalie in ‘Next to Normal.’ Josie has a passion to use music for healing and plans to become a medical music therapist.
Riley Curls is a first year Music Education Major at Florida State University in the Viola Studio. She graduated from Palm Harbor University High School’s International Baccalaureate program, where she served as Head Drum Major her Junior and senior year, and orchestral student conductor her freshman and sophomore year. This year she will be performing with the Marching Chiefs at FSU on their drumline, also known as Big 8.
